While all the gold plated and stainless steel findings I use are listed to be hypoallergenic and are good for most sensitive ears, these findings may contain a trace amount of nickel (5-8%). This is okay for the majority of sensitive ears, but if you're highly allergic or irritated by nickel, please be aware of this before purchasing.

Gold Plated, Resin, and Clay Jewelry Care:
Gold plated jewelry will not last forever. To minimize wear and tear, do not wear earrings in the shower, pool, ocean, etc. or while working out. Please do the same with any of my jewelry, including sterling silver, gold filled, or solid gold. Chlorine and salt are among the chemicals that will cause tarnish and wear.

All jewelry should be treated with care. Fine metals should not be worn while doing dishes, cleaning, taking a shower, swimming in chlorinated water, swimming in salt water, while working out, while doing heavy handwork, etc. Sterling silver especially will react with bleach and chlorine. One effect that chlorine can have on sterling silver is discoloration or tarnish. Discoloration happens when the copper in the alloy reacts with the chlorine. It can also cause pitting, either microscopically, or in more severe cases, visible to the human eye. Pitting weakens the piece, and makes little cracks and holes in it. This will eventually make it brittle enough to snap. I will not offer refunds for jewelry damaged through improper care.

How to Care for Metal and Gemstone Jewelry

If the silver is just dirty, not tarnished or discolored, blue Dawn dish soap and a soft toothbrush is the best method to clean jewelry. If the item has become tarnished, Pro-Polish pads will easily remove it. Another option would be a jeweler's rouge cloth, sold in most jewelry stores, although I wouldn't use it on gold plated jewelry. It's up to you if you want to risk using it on gold filled jewelry, but any damage that occurs is the buyer's responsibility. Be careful with any items that have gemstones in it when using a cloth and try to avoid the gems.

How to Care for Resin Jewelry

Please keep your resin jewelry away from lotions, perfume, cleaning chemicals, anything abrasive, etc. as these can affect the finish of the resin. I make all of my resin jewelry with hard jeweler's grade resin. It does still need special care. Avoid sharp items, hard bangs against anything solid, high heat temperatures, etc. Clean your resin with a soft cloth. A little Dawn dish soap should be fine as well. Do not use extremely hot water as this may temporarily soften your resin. Do not shower with Resin Jewelry. Store your resin jewelry out of direct sunlight, in a cool dry. Our resin is incredibly UV stable, but extended exposure to direct sunlight may eventually yellow resin, and could fade the botanicals placed inside.
